Counter software for independent pharmacies in Pakistan

Faster than the register. And it can't lie.

Find any medicine in a few keystrokes, sell by tab, strip or box, keep udhaar straight, and close the day on numbers you can check. Mehvar Pharmacy runs on your counter PC, so a dropped connection never stops a sale.

  • Sells without internet
  • Keyboard or touch
  • Udhaar built in
  • Your data stays in your shop

Illustrative data

Built around how a medical store actually runs.

Deliveries in the morning, a rush in the evening, udhaar all day, and a drawer to count at closing. Mehvar Pharmacy follows that rhythm instead of asking your staff to learn a new one. Every step has its key, printed on screen.

  1. Morning

Stock comes in as the invoice says.

Enter the distributor's invoice per box, as it is printed: quantity, bonus units kept separate, cost, and expiry for every line. Scan a pack's 2D code and the batch and expiry fill themselves.

    F7Receive stock
  2. All day

Every sale in a few keys.

Search by brand, salt, maker or barcode, misspellings included. Choose tab, strip or box on the line itself. A routine sale is Enter, F12, Enter.

    F12Pay
  3. When it's asked

Udhaar as fast as the register.

Put a sale on credit with just a name and phone number. When they pay part of it, the receipt shows the previous balance, the payment, and what is still owed.

    F4Attach a customer
  4. Shutter down

    Close on three numbers.

Today's sales, the cash that should be in the drawer, and what customers owe you. Count the drawer, record any difference, and see every exception from the day in one list.

    F9Day

Numbers that can't lie.

Paper registers can be rewritten, and so can most software. In Mehvar Pharmacy a sale, a payment or a delivery is never edited after the fact. A mistake is fixed by a correction that sits beside the original, so the history always adds up.

  • Stock is counted from every delivery, sale, return and adjustment, batch by batch.
  • Cash expected in the drawer comes only from money that actually crossed it.
  • Udhaar balances open up into the sales and payments behind them.
  • Exceptions such as discounts, price changes, returns and adjustments each carry a name.

Everything the counter needs, and nothing it doesn't.

Each part exists because a salesman or an owner does it every day. This is what Mehvar Pharmacy handles today.

Selling

Find it, sell it, print it.

Search runs on the counter itself, so results appear as you type. When a brand is out, matches by salt are labelled so the salesman can offer an equivalent.

  • Brand, salt, maker and barcode search, tolerant of misspellings
  • Tab, strip and box on one stock position
  • Unknown item mid-sale: add it with a name and price, finish it later
  • Item and bill discounts, with an owner-set limit and PIN approval above it
  • A USB barcode scanner, the keyboard, or touch
Stock and expiry

Every batch, every expiry date.

Stock is held batch by batch. Sales use the earliest-expiring stock first and reach expired stock last, with a warning before payment, never a block.

  • Expiry recorded for every line received
  • Expired stock sold is listed first on the owner's day view
  • Stock adjustments always need a reason: damage, expiry, count and more
  • Shelf has it but the system shows zero? The sale goes through and the gap is tracked
Purchases

Know what you owe each distributor.

Receiving matches the paper invoice to the paisa. What you owe each supplier is worked out from invoices, payments, corrections and returns, never typed in.

  • Bonus schemes like 10 + 1 entered the way they are printed
  • Prices captured at receiving, so new stock sells at its own price
  • Owner-only purchase corrections and returns to the supplier for credit
  • Overpayments and credit held with suppliers stay visible
Udhaar and returns

The receipt ends the argument.

Every money event prints on an 80 mm thermal printer. Udhaar receipts carry a mini-statement, so a disputed balance is settled by showing the paper.

  • Customers are a name and a phone number, created mid-sale in seconds
  • Partial settlements, the way udhaar is actually paid
  • Returns from the receipt number put stock back and refund what was paid
  • Customer list sorted by who owes the most
Owner control

See the day without standing at the counter.

The day screen puts the three numbers first and the exceptions underneath. Salesmen sell; the owner's screens stay behind the owner's PIN.

  • Daily and all-time sales, cash and udhaar
  • Drawer count against the expected figure, with over or short recorded
  • A user and PIN for each salesman; switch user with a PIN
  • Receipt header and footer set from Settings
Straight answers

What it doesn't do yet.

We would rather tell you now than have you find out at the counter.

  • One counter and one branch for now
  • No prescription or patient records, and no controlled-drug register
  • No FBR POS integration
  • Checking the shop from your phone is not yet available
  • Receipts are laid out for 80 mm printers, not 58 mm

Installed in your shop. Set up with you.

Mehvar Pharmacy runs on the counter PC rather than in someone else's cloud. Internet is never needed to sell, and your records never leave the shop unless you take them.

The hardware

Runs on an ordinary counter PC.

64-bit Windows 10 or 11, 4 GB of RAM and an SSD, with an 80 mm thermal printer and a USB scanner. A UPS is strongly recommended.

The data

Backed up nightly. Yours to export.

A backup runs every night and can be pointed at a USB drive. A full export of your records is always available, whatever state your licence is in.

The setup

We install it and enter stock with you.

We install the software, set up your products from the bundled medicine catalogue, enter your opening stock with you, and train your salesmen at the counter.

Running a hospital or clinic instead? See Mehvar for hospitals.

See a sale go through, at your pace.

We'll walk through a real counter day: a delivery coming in, a rush of sales, an udhaar settlement and the day close. Ask anything about your own shop as we go.

  2. 2We call or WhatsApp you within one working day.
  3. 3A walkthrough in your shop or on a call.

What pharmacy owners ask us.

Do I need internet to use it?

No. Mehvar Pharmacy is installed on your counter PC, so selling, printing receipts and keeping records all work without a connection.

Will it run on our computer?

It needs a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 PC with at least 4 GB of RAM and an SSD, ideally used only for the counter. You will also need an 80 mm thermal receipt printer and a USB barcode scanner. A UPS is strongly recommended.

Does it come with medicines already loaded?

Yes. It ships with a medicine catalogue, so adding a product is usually a search and a price rather than typing every detail. A medicine that isn't there can be added in the middle of a sale and completed later.

How quickly can a salesman learn it?

It is built around the salesman, not the owner: the shortcuts are printed on screen, the common tasks take only a few keys, and everything also works by touch. We train your staff at the counter during setup.

Can staff change prices or stock without me knowing?

Staff can make the changes a busy counter needs, but every price change, discount, return and stock adjustment is recorded with who made it and shows on your day view. Bill discounts above the limit you set need your PIN, and reports and settings stay behind the owner's login.

What happens if the computer breaks?

Mehvar Pharmacy takes a backup every night, and it can be pointed at a USB drive so the backup survives the PC. Your records can then be restored onto a replacement computer.

Can I take my data out?

Yes, at any time. A full export of your records is always available, whatever state your licence is in. The data is yours.

How is it priced?

Mehvar Pharmacy is licensed once per installation rather than charged every month, and a new installation can be evaluated for 30 days with everything working. We share pricing during your demo.

Can I use it on more than one counter or branch?

Not yet. The current version runs one counter in one shop. More counters and branches are planned.
